Political Endorsements

The CPPA regularly receives and reviews requests for political and judicial endorsements. We follow a process to ensure that candidates align with the interests of our membership.

Endorsements are only for local (City, County, or State) races.

The Endorsement Process

  1. Initial Request: The process begins once a request is received by the CPPA President or their designee.
  2. Background Research: The requestor's background is thoroughly researched before proceeding.
  3. Interview Phase: At the discretion of the President, the requestor will be interviewed by a member of the Executive Board (E-Board).
  4. Member Input: CPPA members are encouraged to participate by sending candidate-specific questions to the designated E-Board interviewer.
  5. General Membership Presentation: The requestor is invited to speak at a General Membership Meeting prior to the official vote.
  6. The Vote: An endorsement vote is conducted during the General Membership Meeting when appropriate.
  7. Notification: The requestor will be notified of the results in a timely manner.

Note for Endorsed Candidates: If an endorsement is granted, the candidate will receive an official letter of endorsement and the CPPA logo for campaign use.
